This cartoon character look-alike belongs to a group called the diving ducks. The baer’s pochard plummets deep underwater to get its food. It occupies northeastern China and parts of Russia, and migrates to the South of China and Northern Myanmar in the winter. It is one of the rarest of the world’s pochards and one of the fastest declining ducks in the world, as its freshwater habitats are polluted, unsustainably fished or disrupted due to irrigation.
